Between the 13th – 19th May a group of Sucha Beskidzka students and teachers attended the final Erasmus+ meeting in Ibiza, hosted by the coordinating school from Sant Agusti des Vedra.
We started our Erasmus+ Ibiza adventure on Sunday morning.
Having arrived to Krakow, we got on a plane to Munich. The journey was quick and cheerful. For Kuba and Karol it was their first flight by plane! Although we had to wait 7 hours for a flight to Ibiza at the Munich airport, we had a great time. Kuba, Karol and Kuba walked around the airport looking for souvenirs and the group from Hungary. The remaining travellers stayed in a restaurant with cups full of coffee and hot chocolate. We could not wait to see the beautiful island! After landing in Ibiza, we went to pick up the luggage and headed towards our friends from Spain.
On Monday 14th of May we met at school, visited many classes and saw the broadcasting centre. After that we introduced each other and then we went to the meeting in town hall in Sant Josep. We also saw a very beautiful and old church. In the afternoon we went to the museum of Ibiza and Formentera and then we explored the Dalt Villa, an ancient city in centre of Ibiza. It was the end of the very long and hard but exciting day.
In the morning we met at the school and started recording our reportages. After that we spent some time exploring the school and observing the lessons. Then, local media arrived in order to interview the guests and hosts. In the evening we visited a local radio station, where radio operators told us many interesting things about it. Some student had a chance to say a few words during the audition. After that we came back home with our hosts.
In the morning we participated in a geography lesson with our Spanish partners. After the lesson, at 9 AM, we went to the port of Sant Antoni de Portmany. Then we left the port by ship. We sailed along the coast of an island, and reached Cala Comte, a beach that is located on the west coast of Ibiza. We were there for around 30 minutes, and then we sailed back to Sant Antonio. Afterwards we arrived to Can Curt restaurant in Sant Agustí des Vedrà where we tasted regional dishes, e.g. squids. After the lunch we spent the rest of the day with our hosts.
We started our lessons at 9AM. Our task was to prepare an interview with Erasmus+ partners. After that some of us went to the school radio centre and recorded round table conversation, which summarised the project. Next we learnt some words which the Spanish use very often. We finished lessons at 2PM and had a free afternoon with our hosts.
On Friday we went to observe the lessons. Then, we were interviewed about the Ibiza meeting. After that we participated in pottery workshops. In the evening everybody attended the farewell dinner which was excellent. Although we had everything: great atmosphere, delicious dishes and cool company, we were a bit sad because we knew it was the end of our Erasmus+ School Radio Waves adventure. After the dinner, we received our certificates of attendance from the project coordinator, Ms Nieves Garcia Mari and said goodbye to our friends, hoping that we meet one day again.
Late in the afternoon, our hosts took us to the Ibiza airport. Everyone was sad that the meeting and the Erasmus+ project was about to finish. Then we said goodbye to the Spanish families, headed towards Frankfurt and then to Cracow. The flight to Cracow was fast. Finally we went by bus to Sucha Beskidzka, where our parents were already waiting for us.
